3 Mercedes Performance-Level Upgrades to Consider Installing
August 20, 2011 by admin
Your Mercedes is already an impressive luxury vehicle with added features and high-end performance capabilities, which may make you think twice before deciding to pursue an upgrade. But like all luxury cars, a Mercedes still has room for improvement, though the changes may be more subtle than substantial and obvious. Below, we’ll cover several areas where many Mercedes owners, whether they’re longtime fans or new buyers, may wish to improve upon aspects of their cars. That way, if you decide you want to customize your vehicle in some way, you’ll know some aspects that can easily and readily be improved upon in your Mercedes.
Body Upgrades
Your car’s exterior is going to serve as a reflection of its owner. If you don’t put much time and thought into maintaining or upgrading your vehicle’s body, people will take notice. Fortunately, body upgrades don’t have to all be major overhauls, and we’ll focus here on some more minor adjustments that can still make a dramatic difference. Take your vehicle’s rims, for example. Stock Mercedes rims are probably clean and shiny, but they may not have quite the punch you’re looking for. Seeking out a bolder look? Go with black Mercedes rims, or perhaps even a set of rims with high spoke counts. Grilles are another easy object to change. A dark black grille or a highly polished chrome one will look stunning, especially if one of those is replacing a dated or damaged stock grille.
Interior Upgrades
The inside space of your car is every bit as important, and perhaps even more important, than your car’s outside space. That’s because, in the end, you spend most of your time inside your car, and not outside of it, meaning you’ll get more out of interior upgrades than exterior ones. Torn seating upholstery can easily be hidden with classy designed seat covers. Smelly floor mats can be tossed in favor of customized ones, and even your vehicle’s steering wheel and shift knob can be altered from standard fare to unique and impressive. The inside space of your car is all about subtle touches, but then again, if you wanted to install LCD screens in the back seat and install racecar seatbelts all around, I doubt you’ll get too many complaints.
Lighting Upgrades
In the dark, your car’s appearance isn’t going to matter much, inside or out, without proper lighting to see what you’re trying to look at. Whether you want to replace dated halogens with brighter, longer lasting Mercedes HIDs, or you want bolder-looking tail lights that utilize LEDs instead of incandescent bulbs, there are aftermarket replacements available that have you covered. Just always make sure your car’s lights match the rest of its appearance, and always look bright and stylish no matter what time of day you’re driving.
